Glorious

I was so excited to see Green Gables.  Mrs Spencer, the social worker, had told me so much about it.  She said there were trees all around it.  I was gladder than ever - I do so love trees.
We turned a corner and oh my heart did sing - what a beautiful avenue; apple trees reaching across the road to meet in the middle full of white blooms.  Oh I think my heart will burst from the joy. I just sat and took it all in.  I don't think I said a word the whole way along the avenue and out the other side. When I asked Matthew what that place was called he told me it was simply "The Avenue".  Oh what a disappointment - I decided straight away I would rename it - the White Way of Delight.
We travelled past a pond filled with the chorus of frogs.  "Barry's pond" Matthew grumbled at me when I asked him the name.  Oh that just can't do - I shall call it.... hmmm let's see... The Lake of Shining Waters.
